Warning

Only the 1991 edition is available for this product. Data are available from 1965 to 1991.

Description

This product (Statistics Canada Catalogue No. 84-546-XCB) presents information and results of a follow-up study of approximately 700,000 workers (457,224 men and 242,196 women) employed between 1965 and 1971, constituting approximately 10% of the Canadian labour force at that time. The purpose of this study is to identify and show potential associations detected between possible workplace exposures and specific causes of death. It provides an unique and useful occupational surveillance system.

Each individual’s occupation was available from a federal labour force survey, and the mortality of the cohort between 1965 and 1991 has been determined by computerized record linkage to the national death file, the Canadian Mortality Data Base. Relative risks and 95% confidence intervals have been determined.
